Full details of the rest of
our forthcoming concerts are available on this site.
Also you will find the latest news about the choir,
general information about us, a summary of our
repertoire, and details of works in our music library
available on loan to other choirs. We rehearse on a
Wednesday from 7.30pm to 9.45pm in Cambridge, in
Churchill College, off Storey's Way. Membership is open
to experienced singers of all ages by audition.
With around thirty-two voices, NCS aspires to the
highest possible standards of performance in Baroque and
contemporary British music, while also exploring a broad
range of music from other periods and countries to
produce varied and attractive programmes. NCS performs
mainly in Cambridge and the surrounding region,
rehearsing in Cambridge during school terms. It is
distinctive among choirs of its size and quality for its
policies of commissioning new works and performing with
instrumental ensembles of appropriate size and playing
style in the major works of Bach and his contemporaries.
We occasionally have vacancies for new members, but
currently we have none. However, interested singers
may like to send details of their singing experience
to our membership secretary Philippa Harris (whose
contact details are here)
for consideration as and when vacancies arise.
